I found this lovely little park down by the East River in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, New York, where I have been staying helping my niece with her new baby.
This is my one and only watercolour sketch that I had a chance to do this trip, but I was so enamoured by this tiny park with it’s mediterranean bendy pine trees casting a welcome shade in the scorching heat, and a welcome breeze coming off the water. I saw an American Black Swallowtail butterfly, flown away by the time I drew this! With the spectacular view of the Williamsburg Bridge and the new Freedom Tower across the river in Manhattan.
