A busy day, the YMCA art workshop went well, we have practically finished our bluebell wood painting. It now has a couple of squirrels running up a tree, George and Charlie, made out of cardboard and fake fur and those wonderful old fashioned split pins. Can’t beat a bit of sticking and glueing!

The sunshine is bringing everyone out and I always feel summer has arrived when I see the old boys sitting in their sun hats side by side under the trees outside the flats. My neighbour Pat comes down to see me and we have a cup of tea while I make an attempt at sketching her. I can’t get a good likeness but there is a sense of her in it somewhere. She has beautiful piercing blue eyes. I must practise my figure drawing it is very rusty.
