A few days after the end of the 30 day challenge I took a canvas and acrylic paints back to the spot where I did the last sketch. Looking across to the leaning willow tree at the back of ‘Winnie’s Hill’. I made an attempt to paint directly from the subject, working with the canvas lying on the ground.
I have left it for now to see if I can resist the urge to paint over it. One of the problems I encounter with painting on canvas is that I am never satisfied with my work and tend to paint over it until it is entirely obliterated . Then I scrape it all off. This can be weeks of work completely gone, and all that lovely paint!
Here is another little oil on canvas ‘sketch’ painted outdoors recently, can you guess where it is! Yes, ‘Winnie’s Hill’
